Women’s Cycling is finally beginning to get the attention that it rightly deserves. From the Women’s tour to the first Women’s Paris Roubaix. The sport is now coming to the fore, and therefore so should the kit the riders are using. Therefore we partnered with our friends at sustainable performance cycling brand ashmei to collaborate on a special edition of our Empower Medium-Impact Sports Bras.

Cycling creates dynamic movements in two axis, up to down and side to side. Therefore we incorporated our Overband Technology into this sports bra to provide the support required whether attacking on a climb or on the drops from the top of a col. The Overband is a tensioned band that runs over the top of the breasts, ensuring we are supporting upwards motion as well as downward.

Featured in Cycling Weekly, Cyclist Magazine and Rouleur, the ashmei collaboration has gained plaudits for its comfort, support and breathability, key when cycling in the hottest of climates.

What is a Pre-Tensioned Overband?
The Overband is a stiffened panel that runs over the top of the breasts to provide support in the upward motion. On the Empower Medium-Impact Sports Bra this is pre-tensioned, so that when worn, the Overband pulls downwards, offering the increased level of support required.

What is the difference between ‘Hook and Eye’ and ‘Slot and Snap’ Clasps?
A Hook and Eye Clasp is what is traditionally seen on bras and sports bras alike. It consists of rows of metal ‘eyes’ on one side, and a single column of metal hooks on the other. The column of metal hooks are positioned inside the metal eyes to secure the bra.

A Slot and Snap Clasp is a new innovation of fastening. It features one plastic moulded piece on one side, and several positions for the mould piece to be slotted into. Once slotted into position, the fastening is snapped forward, locking the mechanism and securing the bra.

What Sports should I use my Empower Sports Bra for?
The Empower Sports Bra has been engineered for sports and activities that require a medium level of support. These include but are not limited to team sports, fitness classes, gym workouts and cycling.

Can the Empower Sports Bra be worn alone or without a sports top?
Yes, the high-coverage of our sports bra mean the wearer can feel secure in just their sports bra.
